A day for love... this is the meaning for the "Valentine's Day", that everybody know about.   The name was got from the name of Saint Valentine... There are  people, who supports celebrating February 14th as 'Lover's day'  and there is also the opposition parties, who don't believe in such a celebration. They say that, why giving so importance for this day more or than that we give to mother's day or father's day or even Teacher's day..? A third party will ask, "Is there any need for special day for love? means Love is not for a single day, it is for a life time..and it should be a lifetime celebration"..(Me belong to this category..)

Whatever the reason behind celebrating this day, whatever the different opinions, I want to make you notice one thing.. Now, it is a big Business now. Can we call it the 'commercialization of Love' ? Hey, i am not going to say more about this. Just reminded you, how much money is spending for such a celebration. That too, in our Country.. where there are a lot of people who are not getting enough food, dress, and don't have a roof above them..Really wondering about the glittering side and the darkened side of life...May be we are not seeing the two sides at the same time, as they are like the two sides of a coin..But, we know, both exists..Then why do we avoid the dark side? Is it because, it is not worthy to look at?or because we don't have to notice ,as we are out of that circle?

I am not against Love,or celebrating Love ..I was just thinking about the Business side. And about the money we spent on the glittering things..Love is a pure thing, and it need to be retain its purity always..Love is a celebration too..But, not for a single day..Its a celebration between hearts, I believe..

  1. For me love is defined by effort and a soft corner that you make inside your heart for the other person. It cannot be quatized or specified to a particular day. It's forever if it's true. But we all have this day where we choose to make our partners feel special and needed. This is a day which enforces young hearts to open up and show there love. But as our insentient human race is, it has become an infected, skinflint and deceiving business which is the darker side and that's why people are choosing not to celebrate it.

It really depends on your perception and how you define love. Very well written and wrapped up. Thought provoking. Thank you so much for sharing Sikha. :)
