Am I happy...?

Whenever I feel disturbed and feeling sad about something I used to ask myself. "am I happy?". This may sound crazy, but I then start list all the things I have to be happy about. And the number always exceeds the things that make me feel bad. It is just like this..

  I should be happy because.....

  • I have no physical ailment even though everyone says I am too..lean and weak and unhealthy. In my opinion, to be healthy doesn't mean that you have to be fatty, it is just the condition with out any illness.
  • I have a decent paying Job, which I am passionate about doing ever since I am a student.
  • I have a good family- my parents, siblings, and my love, even though there are some problems sometimes. We patch up all the times.!! :)
  • I have the world's best friends..-Lucky me :)
  • I have enough freedom to do anything at my will. Thanks to my parents.
..................................................................................... there can be many more persons who don't even get any one of the blessings I have got. Its not at all my own credit. I know that. and, I am thankful to him for all that I have now. God Almighty..

Then, the current sadness will be washed away very soon realizing I have no time to be sad..as I have a lot more to be happy.. :) :)

   Friends,   "Are you happy...?"

Busy september

Blogathon- Count down # 9

Privy, one of my dearest friend has a diary in which she used to name each month on account of what she looking forward in to that month. It's really a nice thought. You can read about it here.

   If I have to name this month on account of my experiences, I will definitely call it as ' Busy September'. This is because I am soo.. busy nowadays. Especially this September. And you know what, me doing the Blogathon on the same month. I think, I can just list the things that make me this much occupied. So, they are;
1.     Semester end 'marathon'  :- Yes, I am doing another marathon at college.  One semester is said to be having 6 months duration. But only for a saying. Now, it's only nearly 3 months from the opening day. University exams are declared to be on 1st week of November. So, from the mid-October should be given for study leave. Now, you may have understood my problem. The portions are not completed yet. So, we all faculties are just trying to run fast. But, we can't just throw the lessons with out quality. that's the real issue. The students also become tired (only if they also try to study). JJ
2.     Symposium @ college:- Our college is conducting a technical symposium on 26th and 27th September. Electrical department( my department) is conducting this with Electronics Dept. and Instrumentation Dept. Me too have got duties in some of the events on those days. I got selected as the chief co-ordinator for the event ‘paper presentation’. Very little time left now, and a lot of things to do. I have almost completed the preparations, but a bit tensed about the day. [ Another reason for tension: Mixed college students are also invited to take part. Note, our’s is a girls only college. So you know the risk factor JJ].
3.     Two PSC tests (Kerala PSC) are coming on the next month. I haven’t started the preparations yet. But, still busy with the planning section [ finding the syllabus, get the topics , get the hall ticket, and How to prepare etc].
4.     I have got happy news to tell you my dear friends. My project paper got selected for a National Conference to be conducted from 3rd to 5th October. I have to prepare for this presentation, and ‘Oh my God! time is running..!!
5.     I have got an online job also. As subject Matter Expert in Cramster. My job is to give solutions for the questions in some text books given. I have finished the training course some days before. They have sent me the certificate, and I have been given my first assignment. I have to solve 55 questions in September and October. It’s going to be a little bit tough task.
6.     I have to go to my previous college to collect my scholarship and other certificates left.
7.     I have to go to bank, and have some deal with them.
8.     There are 4 unavoidable marriage functions coming the next week.
9.     I have to keep my ‘Blogathon’ running. I have to find one post each day [ not so easy for every day]
10.  Household chores, and other stuffs I need to do, my books left to read, my family time etc...
I think, it is a long list already. [ me too shocked!!]. I need to wind up now. Things are in the queue alreadyJ
 Bye for now...

My Diary-Almost forgotten

           Blogathon- Count Down # 13

I have started writing diary from my school days, and it has become a routine from 2003. My Diary- my best friend was with me in all my happiness, my sorrows, my excitements, my ambitions, my foolish thoughts, my unnecessary worries... and in everything related to me. It was to her, I can open up myself completely. Even though I have many friends, I couldn’t feel free to talk everything about me. She was my close friend, my valuable possession. She always kept everything secret, unless I want to reveal. She had enjoyed my small- small victories with me. When I was feeling low, she was there to hold my hands. When I was complaining about anything, she used to hear everything silently. If I were crying, she also cries with me, making me laugh myself.[ sounds crazy?].
When I found my love, her responsibilities also got increased. Every emotion of mine got doubled. Let it be happiness, craziness, sorrows (whenever we had a fight or something) anything.. But, she was okay with all that. She accepted all that changes with all her heart. And keep on being with me giving extra support. With passing of each year, I used to give her a new look also. From the last year when my project started, I became more lazy about sharing my thoughts and feelings with her. I made the excuse that, ‘I am so busy’ and stressed with my works, and only shared the plans of next day. Only the ‘To do’ lists. I think, she may have felt so bad about this. And you know what, I am such a selfish that, I used to reach her, when I feel a bit down, and nobody else to share. This year too, she is being avoided by me. I regret.. Nowadays, I don’t even see her regularly. I have started pouring some of my feelings to my blog. And she became more and more neglected.
I really feel sorry for her. Last night, I have opened my ‘treasure box’[will detail it later], and taken all my diaries out. They reflect ‘me’.. my growth..mental and spiritual growth. I really want to go through all those in one sitting. But, it was not an easy task really. I have gone through the oldest one, and wondered how much I got changed now from then..! That brought me back some old memories [sweet and sour, good and bad]. I really got changed a lot. I was feeling a bit sleepy and stopped at finishing the first one.
On bed, I was thinking about the changes I had. I have found that all the changes are not fair. I mean, there are good changes as well as bad changes. I need to rectify it. I need to get back myself.
I have again started to talk to her. J. Me happy.. J so as she JJ

One me with different names

 Blogathon-Count down # 28

Name is the first identity of a person. And, nick names reveals his/her character sometimes. Nick names can be got from any one who likes you, love you, or even jealous with you. ‘Double name’ is something given by small small rivals/enemies or some one who don’t like you or don’t want to appreciate you for anything.
I don’t have much to list, any way I am going to tell you some of my names..
The first one was given by my loving father. He used to call me “Chinku pappudu”, when i was too..small. In my little ages, I used to dress like a boy, and pleased to be called as a boy. I become angry at anybody calling me as a “girl”. I had made many fights regarding that.
Then, I don’t remember from when I was okay to be a ‘girl’, and my father started calling me as “kuttayee”. Actually, this type of name is used to call boys. But, even now, he calls me like that. And, I just love it...
I don’t know why, but my mother never called me with any pet names(I don’t remember even one!!).
My chachan (Father’s yonger brother), used to call me as “kunjan”,which means “little one”. But, nowadays he doesn’t call me in that name. May be because, I am not his “little one” now. There are so many little ones now.
My love(would be hubby), used to call me some sweet names, in our child hood days (ya, we started loving much earlier!!). But, after getting some maturity, (only he got matured, me still in the “kid” state), he don’t think I need to be pampered calling sweet names. He will call me whatever comes to his mind. Actually, nowadays he don’t call me anything directly, but in his cell phone, my phone number is saved as “Devi...” (me really like it). Some months before, it was “Vava”[ meaning, ‘little kid’]. But he changed it as his nick name (universally accepted I should say) is also “Vava” [changed to avoid the confusion, ‘vava’ calling “vava”].
Then my friends ,seniors in my college days given my the name “Kanathri”- means naughty girl. One of my x-Mas friend called me as “barking baby”, as I was a ‘angry little girl’. Then there was some other names..I am not listing all that.
When I joined as a lecturer after my B.tech, my sweet colleagues used to call me “kochu” – means little.( Oh!! When will I be a grown up?)
Lastly, I want to tell you my new name, which is given by my current colleagues. The mechanical department in my college awarded me with the name “ Miss. Systematic”- You can assume why such a name. Anyway, I like it J. I take it as a complement. They teases me by saying, my would be husband..(actually, they don’t know I am engaged) is going to suffer a lot J J...

A missed letter...

It seems to be  lost.. I am talking about the letter. Even after this much days..(More than 2 weeks yet), he didn’t got it. What does it mean? Have any one read that? My personal feelings eavesdropped? Or is that the fate of that letter? Was it meant not to reach its destiny? But, ask me, it was really a sweet letter.. full of love and passion, and small small complaints and sorrows in my life.. in our life.. But you missed it..We really missed it. It was really written so beautifully, in green letters, I have made it so perfect as much as I could, as it was my letter to you after a long break.. Some months before, (or is it past an year or more?) the idea of writing long letters, had left us... We just tried to forget such a nice way to express ourselves..
And it was on one night, I was laying awake on bed thinking about those past but beautiful days.. And I started missing you ,.. I couldn’t tell you how much..And after some time, I have found myself writing in a long ruled paper, with green letters....

A message to my loving brother..

    My loving brother,

Some times, I remember the days when you were a little one.. A very little, cute one.. We , your sisters really made silly fights to make you tell each of us, that whom  you love  the most..And most of the times you came to my side apart Biji and Chikku. I was  so happy and proud then...

I remember those days when you joined your nursery.. On the first day, when we got you there and started to leave, you were crying so..much. you may not be knowing, but I really could't stand that sight. And from the very next day, I used to come with you, and stayed back with you there, so that you feel happy and safe.

I remember, that day when you have to take an injection at the clinic near your nursery, it was me who was with you. I was scared thinking that, you may cry, and can't bear the pain. But, to my surprise, to every one's surprise, you didn't cried at all.

I remember  your  first stage performance.. you were looking so cute, in the fancy dress as the hunter, with black powder on your body, and the dress made of leaves.. I used to say the audience near to me "It's my brother..It's my brother". Your mimicry performances in such a little age, made so proud of you.. and also remember the drama competition two years back, that made me cry too..you have won the 'best  actor award'.. your performance was simply "superb"..
I remember, those days, when you need me for each and everything other than others. Even for covering your note books, and writing your name on name slips..

One day, I found my elder brother in you, when you waited for me at the bus stop, as I was late from college... You don't know, how much important you really are for me..

I remember that day also, when we had that quarrel..and spoke about things, that shouldn't be spoke. But, I thought it was another silly fight we used to have often. But, now I feel that, I was wrong.. That day, started the bad part in my life.. You have taken all my words seriously, and started avoiding me. You started rejecting the things I give you.

I feel really so..bad my dear. I miss those wonderful days..when we played together, played Quiz together, cracked jokes together..and our silly fights together.. I really miss you my  one and only little brother..

You know, after some more months, I won't be here with you all. I will be getting married, and will go that home. So, I really want to have some more precious moments with you.. I have tried a lot to solve the problem. But, I think, you are not even noticing that. If you feel that, you can forgive me, then please pardon me.. I am so..sorry for that day..so sorry for everything, I have done wrong.. I love you  so..so..much dear..

The Rakhi day is coming, so, wishing you a happy rakhi day..  I want the Rakhi of love always tied on your arm..

With lots of love,
Your elder sister..

An unexpected meeting

Meetings.. Some can be preplanned, and  some can be accidental or unexpected. In the latter case , a meeting can be  a pleasant one, something that can makes us happy or an unpleasant one, that may make us feel bad or disturbed. Some days before I had a meeting like that. An unexpected one. But the thing is that, I can’t say whether it was a pleasant or unpleasant one. Yeah, there are some situations like this....
I had met one of my friend on that day. Actually, she was my best friend some years ago. I have already told you about our relation. We were like having two bodies physically and a single soul. We were that much close to each other. We loved each other so..  much. But, one day that happened. There had a break-up. And we stopped talking, and contacting each other. That was an agreement that, we  both don’t have to message or make a call. Because, we know, the broken relations can’t be patched up completely. And we don’t need our relation incomplete..without the essence which it had in those days. That is why I have described it as ‘a wound not healed yet’..
So, I am coming back to that day, when we met last. I was just crossing the road to wait for my college bus with my sister. It’s my sister who pointed out my friend, and said ‘ Look, that chechi is standing there’. When I saw her, what I felt was.. no..I don’t think, I can explain it..But, until that day, all I feared was this .. like, ‘if I came to see her  face to face, what will I do?, and how will I mangae that..?”. and, that already happened...
When I reached the bus stop, I couldn’t resist myself looking her. Yes, she was also looking towards me. It was she who spoke first .“when will your bus come?” , and I answered her. How simple!!. And like this, we started our conversation, and said good bye, when I was about to leave. During the travel also, I found myself thinking about her; our sudden meeting; how we managed to talk to each other; and I also thought about the days we were together, for everything, with hand in hand; and all the wonderful things we used to share and talked about...
When I returned back my home at evening, I thought about her again. How we managed to talk. Actually, I was wondering, why I was not at all disturbed; and how I could behave as normal?; and how I could forget that quarrel we had made? The words  which can’t be taken back that we both had spelled out??.. I couldn’t understand.. I think, it’s because of the love and affection we had once, we couldn’t behave as strangers. It’s sure that, our relation can’t have a go back ; but, I am sure, still we both have some place for each other in our hearts. May be it’s true that, we can never hate a person completely whom we loved a lot once upon a time.. And I can feel my heart becoming some more relaxed. A feeling of lightness...

You all may  be knowing that, currently I am working as an Assistant Professor in an Engineering college. I have told you about the college, and the some of the things that is going on there. But, I didn't told you about this. You know something?, that one of my own sister studies in the same college. 'so what..?' you may ask. But, do you know, I am teaching in her class also. Actually, I am their group tutor/counseller till their final year. Isn't that exciting? .To be a teacher of your own sister?.I should say,'yes, it is..really exciting, and a good feeling' and some of my colleagues said that, it's a rare chance or 'luck'.. What do you feel my dear ones..?

A gift brought by FDP

In one of my previous posts, I was saying about the FDP (Faculty Development Program) in my college. Today I got something to share with you. The FDP program made me get a valuable gift .Let me tell the story. It was on last week.....
That day one of my colleague was taking a seminar on the topic “Luck”. She had explained some interesting things about ‘luck’, and finally there came the  time for making comments. I got up myself  and faced the audience to make a comment. I started with congratulating her for taking such an interesting topic. Then I told them about the book “The Monk Who Sold His Ferari”, by Robin Sharma, and continued like this...
‘In that book, the narrator of the story,John asks the central character Julian, “what is called ‘Luck’ my dear friend?”. Then Julian replies, “It’s nothing more than the marriage of preparation with opportunity”. As we see, preparation plays an important role in life success. When opportunity comes to a person, who is prepared, he can take the opportunity. This is what Julian Mantle considered as luck. So, if the luck knocks an unprepared mind, there is a high probability that, he miss his opportunity and misses his luck. So to be the lucky person, we all have to be well prepared ...Good luck to all of you’.... I stopped saying like this.
Then, the next day, the  Mechanical Department HOD(Head of the  Department) asked me about my interest in reading, and about the type of books I used to read. He looked so impressed on me..
The next day, he called me in his department, (Me belongs to Electrical Engineering Department), and gifted me something..You know what was that..? An “e-Reader”... Kobo e-reader. I was so happy and excited on seeing that. I also wanted to get one like that..and God is great! I got it as a gift.. I thanked him so..much for this wonderful present. I asked him , whether I can show this to our Principal Mam..He said “Oh..yes, go on..”. Then I showed Mam, and she said a “Wow!!”, and Sir explained why he had given me this gift.. Mam said “Look, how happy she is!!”..She was right.. I was so..so..happy..

Have a look at my new e-reader..

FDP program.

I am talking about FDP (Faculty Development Program) in our college.
From  the very first day, I have found out  some amazing things in  our college. One of them is this FDP, conducted  everyday @ 2pm. To  improve the communication skills of the faculty, and to make them confident on a stage, the college authorities planned to  conduct seminars by every faculty members. The topics can be anything under the sun, usually general topics. But the technical topics can also be taken but make sure  that, we are not going so deep in to technical; so that every  faculty get benefit from this. The audiences were  not only from the Engineering Department, but also from MCA and MBA department in our college.
On my first day @ college, I got a chance to attend the FDP , which consisted of two classes by two of  my colleagues. The classes were really interesting, and  I appreciated this idea  of FDP.
After each classes, there was interactive sessions in which all faculties are supposed to say something, any comments or questions. The senior faculties  take  part in it very actively, but the juniors are not that much  relaxed. I had  found out some of my friends sitting near me being tensed, worrying about, who will be called next. Actually the thing is that, when nobody is coming forward to comment on the session, then principal Mam will call somebody very randomly, to come forward and speak. This is a terrible situation to everyone, I can see from their expressions.
‘Thank God’.. I have escaped that time. But, me also became scared, on thinking about the session the next day. The seminar hall was a huge hall, air conditioned, having cushioned seats. The lights will be turned off before starting the show, just like  in a movie theatre. The difference is that, here we are making the show. We are taking part in the show. Whole of the ambience make every one tensed a little. Me also got it ..
And  one day I also had to take my seminar ..I will tell that story later..

A rare visit to hospital

I was waiting outside the doctor’s room. A homeopathic clinic ,very near to my home. There were some other people wating, to see the doctor for their kids. You hear that?! For their kids, those may have a small fever, cold or something like that. And there I am, a 23 year old, just came for myself. Reason: a headache...
Actually, I am not at all a homeopathic person, but he is. And, its because of him, I try it sometimes. I was feeling a little bit drowsy, as I came just after my afternoon nap which took longer than usual, and I had to hurried to the clinic. Then there is a long queue..(They are not lined up in a queue, everybody sitting here and there in chairs and in the cement benches on the verandha. There is a silent decision and agreement of ‘who goes next?’. The one came first, go first. No problems, no haste, everything was calm and normal.
Me having a headache for a week. Not feeling all the day, but when it comes, my head felt so heavy for me. And, for a few moments, all the thing  I can see is darkness..complete darkness. I just neglected it for some weeks, and hided it from him. But, when he got to know this, insisted constantaly, to consult a doctor. He didn’t said, homeopathy. He need me to have a scanning or something  like that. (I think it made him scared a little). But, you know what...? Me don’t like to go any hospitals. The hospital atmosphere, the medicines, the needles, the smell of dettol , everything make me feel drowsy. I usually got a headache, when I  come back from hospital, even it is just for visiting a friend or relative admitted there. So, I kept on escaping from him, on the thought of having consult a doctor. I strongly believe, my headache is just because of my over work and stress, personal and official.. Or it may be because of my low B.P. So, it is not necessary to go to hospital.
But, atlast I had to do this. Now, me in a clinic..(Thank God, I don’t have to go for a scanning or injection here. Thanks for ‘Haniman’ – the father of homeopathy). Something forced me to do so. Guess who??...You are right. Its him. Two of my college friends, (they were my roommates too..) called me to say that, they were planning to have an outing the next day for we three. Me, Anita and Salini. They have booked tickets for a new released movie, then a book fair, a grand lunch and some shopping.. I got thrilled to here this. It was a long time, when such an outing happened. We couldn’t meet a long time like this. I started preparations for the program, after getting permissions from him.( Ya, I ask him permission for everything! Good girl na?!!) .But, the things got a change last evening .

It was when I had the headache again. This time a strong one..(Oh! What a timing afterall!!).
Then he told me, I have to consult a doctor, and only after that, he can let me go for my outing with friends. And, that too if the doctor say that, I am perfectly okay. So,..Thats why I was in a group of little patients and their parents then..
But, I had a good evening there. watching them all, speaking to those kids, carrying a 8 month old baby, meeting some persons I  know..I need to explain in detail. Only this for now...

I am so happy to know that, I have been tagged by one of my dearest friend Nancy(Reflections). Thank you so much Nancy, for being the first to tag me in your space..

She gave me nice task too..I also have to tag some of my friends and, answer some questions. And, you know what? I have to prepare a nice question too..to go as a chain..

    So, Here comes the rules..

1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post & then create 11 new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag 11 people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them..

The 11 questions, that  she had posted are as follows..and  my answers too..

1.)      If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

If I have any super power now, then I wish I could, renovate my house, just like my dream house..I would like to have a ' Naalukettu' (the court yard should be in middle, surrounded by the rooms in the four sides). I wish ,If there can be a lotus pond in the middle, in which the rain can be very beautifully, make the drops scatter..There should be a 'padippura' instead of a gate in the east side..And, the house furnished with lots of wooden works..And there should be a room, which can be called as my own library, having shelfs full of books to read..an armchair in the same room, near the window..

mm....oh..its going like there is no end..so coming to next Q:

2.)      What was your favourite childhood television program?

I remember some of the programs that were on TV  in my childhood days...one of them was chantrakantha, which was about a princess named chntrakantha, who was caught by some evils, and put her in a cage. And, her lover comes to save her...This was my favourite program, even though ,it was not actually  made for kids..

I used to watch some cartoons like  Hercules, Adventures of Zinbad ,etc..Zinbad was my favourite..

3.)      Have / had any celebrity crushes ?

I like many celebrities like Sharukh Khan,Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan,  Mohan Lal, Prithviraj, Vijay,Sooriya....and the list continues..but, when asking about something like a ‘celebrity crush’, then I can point to two other stars..one my favourite hero john Abraham, (I like his smile a lot..loved his movie ashayein). And the next one, and the latest and more favourite....it is ‘Arnav Singh Raizada’( you know him if you watch ‘Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon’ in star plus..).i am rally addicted to this show, and  became a great fan of him..

4.)      If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?

If I could go anywhere, then I would like to go to Himalyas and visit ‘Kailas’..the abode of Lord Siva ..

5.)      Name 1 thing you miss about being a child.

One thing I missed most, in my childhood was My Grandparents..(I miss them now too..).But, at that time I needed them more.I think so..

6.)      Name the one comic/book character that you loved the most and why?

The  comic characters which I love most(even now), are Soothran and Sheru in the story ‘Soothran’, in “Balarama”. I just loved them both,..they are so funny, the sheru is so innocent..actually (idiotic innocence)..even there expressions in the pictures make me laugh..

7.)      What is the one thing that you are dying to try but haven’t had a chance to do so yet ?

I wish..I want to be writer..

This may be strange to anybody hear this ..but, I really want to write a book. Now, it is not the time, and I am not good for a try now,..so ...waiting for the correct chance..

8.)     Do you have a role model – someone you want to emulate? Whom do you admire the most?

My role model to be as a good person is none other than my better half, as he has some of the best qualities which I don’t have. He  has got some nice principles in life..I admire His willpower to achieve anything, he want..and the way how he can stick firmly to his point, and the way he love and care all our dear ones.. I am so proud to be his life partner..

In my career, I want to be a professor, and I have a role model to be a good teacher. I am talking about my favourite miss, Mrs. Shaija. She showed us, how a teacher should be, how a lecture should be..So, Iwant to be a good teacher like her..

9.)      What do others make of you?

Most of the people who know me , consider me as a kid..They find me as a girl, who is friendly, easily got attached  type, studious(me not really)very sentimental, and show maturity on correct time being a kid other times..

10.)  Have you ever gotten into a fight or punched someone ?

I often make fights with my siblings..(there are three younger than me in my home), and nowadays, the most of the fights are with my betterhalf..I also make some small fights with my parents also..Oh, how can I miss my sister in-law here? We also make some small fights..

But, these are not all any ‘Fights’ na..?

I had quarrelled with one of my closest friend too..But, I never have punched any one..(Except my family..I punch them all, whenever I get a chance..)

11.)   For Girls – If you woke up tomorrow to find out you are Brad Pitt, what would be the first thing you’d say upon looking in the mirror???

For Boys – If you woke up tomorrow to find out you are Angelina Jolie, what would be the first thing you’d say upon looking in the mirror???

I will say..” Oh my  God”..and scream which will wake up my better half from his nice sleep...

The  last question is to be from me..and here it is..

12) Is there anything, that others complain about you..?

The only thing, others complain about me is, I am so  lean..day by day, I am becoming more like a ‘skelton’. They accuse me that, I eat and sleep very little, and worry too much for nothing.. May be they are true..I also, want to improve myself..mm..just let my project to end..then see..

So, these are my answers and one question..

Here I tag,
